After spending the night playing with Bob Weir one night earlier, it seems that Phish was still in a great mood for the final night of their two-night stand at the Ascend Amphitheater in Nashville, TN. The band delivered a solid first set, though it had some up and down moments, but their second set was one that will surely be remembered. The impressive feat saw the band bring out a total of six songs, stretching out each of them with a fluidity so prized among the band’s loyal fans. The set started with a cover of TV On The Radio’s “Golden Age,” leading into a blissful jam that ultimately dropped into fan favorite, “Tweezer.” The funk train kept on going with “No Men In No Man’s Land,” before Phish brought out a dark and intoxicating rendition of the Trey Anastasio original, “Plasma.” Played for only the fourth time ever, let’s keep our fingers crossed that “Plasma” becomes a more-frequent second set choice. The darkness became light as the band played a feel-good “Harry Hood,” and closed out the set with the upbeat “Suzy Greenberg.” With no breaks in the music, this was some straight up Phish, pure and simple.Fortunately, thanks to Chris From Jam Buzz, full audio of the show is now streaming on YouTube for us to enjoy.
