ThePostdoctoral Associate will work in our Integrative MechanobiologyLaboratory (IML) and engage in setting up the patch clamp rig andtraining graduate students on electrophysiology experimentalskills. A successful candidate will work independently and alsocollaborate with other members to participate in the cutting-edgetechnology-and-discovery-driven research projects in a highlydynamic and exciting environment. The ideal candidate would have atleast 1-2 years of experience in bench (wet lab) experimentsfocusing on electrophysiology. Skills in LabVIEW programming anddevelopment of the optical microscope are a strong plus, but notrequired. This position offers a rich opportunity to engageresearch at the frontier of biotech fields, aiming for the nextstage of the candidate’s career, either in academic orindustry.Our Integrative Mechanobiology Laboratory (IML) at the Departmentof Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering focuses on inventing newphysical tools to probe the biological function and structures. Weuse our tools to explore biological questions and make newmeasurements in the unexplored regimes of time and space. Ourresearch projects are interdisciplinary by nature, at the interfaceof mechanical engineering, physics, chemistry, and biology.Currently, we tackle important problems in human diseases,including cancer, cardiovascular malfunction, tissue regeneration,and brain disorders.
