The 33rd session of the Tourist Council of the Croatian Tourist Board was held in Rovinj, at which the members of the council adopted proposals for decisions on marketing cooperation with Lonely Planet i TripAdvisor, as well as marketing and PR activities within the project “Sports Croatia”.Marketing cooperation with Tripadvisor includes the integration of content, images and videos on the portal, but also advertising through multiclick banners. It is the world’s leading travel and travel booking portal, operating in 49 countries and covering more than 7 million accommodation units, attractions and restaurants worldwide. The portal generates 455 million visitors on a monthly basis and contains more than 570 million reviews.On the other hand, Lonely Planet is one of the world’s leading travel media with over 100 million visitors and more than 500 million page views per year. Collaboration with Lonley Planet involves creating personalized “micro websites” and content within the Lonely Planet portal with original promotional travel videos. Each content will be shared via social networks, and after the end of the campaign, the published content will remain permanently present on the page.Director of the CNTB Head Office Kristjan Staničić emphasized the importance of key marketing activities in further positioning Croatia in foreign emitting markets. “Today’s processes of promotion and branding in tourism require a high degree of proactivity, professionalism, creativity and innovation. The call for expressions of interest for the implementation of the project “Sports Croatia” was published from 1 to 12 February 2018, and the decision of the Tourist Board approved cooperation on internationally recognized projects and events, including Tour of Croatia, ATP Croatia Open Umag , Pannonian Challenge, Downhill UCI MTB World Cup, WTA Croatia Bol Open, KHL Medveščak, etc.Demand for Croatia has never been higher, and this is confirmed by announcements from all major tourist fairs and markets according to which reservations are already being made for Croatia for 2019, said Minister Cappelli, adding “I am extremely pleased that, in addition to our traditional markets, we are seeing increasing interest in distant markets, which will certainly, with the further opening of new airlines, form a much more significant segment of total tourist traffic. I believe that this will, in addition to increasing tourist traffic, have a positive effect on the continued growth of revenues and continued investment in Croatian tourism.” Cappelli concluded.
