We went to Portsmouth Market two weeks ago, and the Portsmouth Market was our first experience of trying to put things into place. We also had two young women poets there, who did wonderfully and drew crowds despite the fact that they did not have a microphone,” she said.Ms. Pattullo told Dominica Vibes News that persons have been showing interest in the Book Exchange as well as the Literary Festival.Cocoa Tea performing his poetry piece at the Book Exchange this morning.“Today one week before the Literary Festival Book Fair itself, we are here at the Roseau Market. And now in Roseau Market it is a little bigger, we’ve got a few more books, and a few more people are coming and getting to know about it. The idea is that we are telling people to come to the Literary Festival. We’ve got Gregory Rabess on pans; we’ve got poets here to Delroy Williams and Cocoa Tea.”There were books on sale in the price range of $1.00 to $5.00, which several persons took advantage of and other donated books to the festival. The Book Exchange was very well attended and enjoyed live steel pan music and poetry. There will be six different workshops forming part of the Literary Festival on topics such as self publishing, writing for children and supporting your child’s literacy to name a few. These workshops will commence on Tuesday evening at the UWI Open Campus on Elmshall Road and is open to everyone absolutely free of charge.”Yellow” browsing through a book at the Book Exchange this morning.Visit the Nature Island Literary Festival’s website for the schedule of workshops and programmes.Dominica Vibes News 62 Views   no discussions Sharecenter_img Share Share LocalNews Book Exchange organized to promote the Nature Island Literary Festival by: – July 30, 2011last_img
