Their concerns were considered in the crafting of the market code, said Fajardo. The measure was approved on third and final reading during the SB’s regular session on May 18, 2020. It is now awaiting the signature of Mayor Laurence Anthony G. Gorriceta so it could be implemented. Fajardo was assisted in the hearing by committee vice chairman SB member Maria Jaspe Francisco and committee members SB Rolando A. De la Rosa and SB Gyzzyn G. Gumban. A public hearing was conducted by Fajardo’s committee in March prior to the ordinance’s approval. No less than Mayor Gorriceta graced it together with various department heads of the municipal government. Also present at the public hearing to show support to the market code were Vice Mayor Edsel G. Gerochi and members of the SB, the various punong barangays of Pavia, and existing stall holders at the public market, among many others from various sectors of the municipality.
