PICO RIVERA – A 20-year-old man was stabbed on Gretna Avenue at 1:10 a.m. Saturday, according to police. “We were advised of a fight involving 15 to 20 males outside of a large house party,” Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputy Sgt. Nick Cabrera said. “When we arrived, everyone had dispersed and we found that one white male had been stabbed.” Cabrera said police believe that one group of men leaving the party came upon another group of men on Gretna Street and the fight broke out. Police said they did not know what led up to the fight or the condition of the victim. Gabrera said police are looking for a man about 20 to 25 years old. Elks Lodge to host Mexican breakfast MONTEBELLO – The Montebello Elks Lodge is hosting a Mexican breakfast from 9 a.m. to noon today at the lodge, 506 W. Community group to host potluck WEST WHITTIER – The West Whittier Community Advisory Committee meeting will take place at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Sorensen Park, 11419 Rosehedge Drive. The meeting is a potluck, and guests are asked to bring their favorite dish to serve. Entertainment will be the Mariachi Del Oro Angelino. All community residents are welcome. Blood drive slated at middle school EAST WHITTIER – A community blood drive will take place from 1 to 7 p.m. Thursday at East Whittier Middle School, 14421 E. Whittier Blvd. Students and parents joined with the American Red Cross to organize the drive. Donors will enjoy live music from school band members, and food will be provided from 4 to 7 p.m. To sign up, visit, enter the code “ewms” and enter the time you wish to donate.
