first_imgOn behalf of the Touch Football community, Touch Football Australia wishes to extend its condolences to the family of Brian Burns, who passed away last week. Brian Burns passed away on Wednesday, 14 August after a two year battle with Prostate Cancer. For those who knew Brian would not be surprised that he fought his battle to the end.Brian was in the first class of state graded referees and had the state graded referee number of three. He was the leading referee of his day having refereed finals at the first four National Championships.He was also one of the founders of the Parramatta Touch Association and this lifelong association saw him gain Life Membership of the Eels. He has always been well regarded by not only his peers but by the sport in general and was well known as a tireless worker for the sport in its early years. Brian is survived by his wife Lyn and two boys Scott and Jason.Brian’s funeral and wake will both be held at Northmead Bowling Club, 166 Windsor Road Northmead New South Wales on Friday, 23 August at 1pm.Related LinksVale Brian Burnslast_img
