first_imgNew Delhi: It seems Muzaffarpur has become a living example of Bihar government’s apathy as after hitting the headlines over a large number of kid’s deaths due to acute encephalitis syndrome (AES), the district is again in news over the discovery of hundreds of human skeletons.The skeleton remains are of unidentified bodies that were brought in the government-run Sri Krishna Medical College and Hospital (SKMCH) for post-mortem. According to sources, the matter relates to siphoning off the cremation amount that forensic department of the hospital gets from the state government. “It’s the responsibility of the autopsy department of the hospital to perform last rituals of any unclaimed body as per their customs and for that they get Rs 2,000 per body. The officials of forensic department in connivance with local police gulped the money meant for bodies’ cremation,” the sources claimed.
