by News Staff Posted Jul 16, 2014 10:13 pm MDT Calgary MP calls Airport Authority over noisy runway AddThis Sharing ButtonsShare to TwitterTwitterShare to FacebookFacebookShare to RedditRedditShare to 電子郵件Email The new airport runway hasn’t been open very long, but it’s already generating a lot of noise complaints from people who live near the flight path.Calgary East M-P Deepak Obhrai tells 660News, he’s talked with the Airport Authority which he says hasn’t been doing a good job of communicating with communities, like it said it would.“The bulk of the complaints I’m receiving are from people who were not contacted and had not received anything from the Airport Authority which is why they said they would intensify their efforts to contact people and have a dialogue with the communities affected,” he said.He’s been assured by the Airport Authority that every complaint call will be returned.Obhrai admits it’s not like the runway will be closing, but he says the Authority needs to be, what he calls, a good corporate citizen.
